I thought i would write this page to tell our customers exactly what they get for there money when the take up our painting option.

Step 1

Your part is removed from its transit packaging and thoroughly inspected.

Step 2

The part is lightly sanded and any transit scratches are repaired using a combination of sprayable putty filler, P600 wet or dry paper and primer.

Step 3

Having satisfied ourselves that we have a good base, your part is painted using top quality Basecoat paint. Basecoat paint is basically the part which holds the colour and if applicable the metallic flakes.

Step 4

Once we have applied 3 or 4 coats of base colour, your part is left to bake for 30 mins in our spray booth area. Once dry it is thoroughly inspected for any possible imperfections.

Step 5

Once we have completely satisfied ourselves that the base process is perfect, we clean the painted surface using what is called a tack rag. Ready for the clear coat stage.

Step 6

The clear coat stage is when the part is given its shiny finished coat. This consists of several coats of high impact resistant 2 pack or 2k clear lacquer. This is what gives your part the protection it needs to withstand use on britains roads. We only use the insdutry renowed PPG D880 High Solids Clear Coat Lacquer. This is widely considered the best clear coat in the business.

Step 7

We oven bake your fully painted part over night at a constant 30 degrees centigrade.

Step 8

Your part is inspected again and any imperfections in the clear coat are removed using a combination of P1500 sanding discs and a strong polishing compound. This is applied using a specialist polishing buff.

Step 9

Your part is dried off and waxed using a good quality wax.

Step 10

Your part is wrapped in a layer of specialist foam to protect the freshly painted surface.

Step 11

Your part is finally packaged in AirCap 'Large Bubble' bubble wrap. This is expensive heavy duty stuff that ensures your painted part arrives safely at your door.

Finally our ParcelForce Man Archie , collects the painted part and sends it on its way via a 48hr courier service - straight to your door.
